حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ هَوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا إِذَا لَقِيَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا لَقُوهُمْ بِبِشْرٍ حَسَنٍ وَإِذَا لَقُونَا لَقُونَا بِوُجُوهٍ لَا نَعْرِفُهَا قَالَ فَغَضِبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا وَقَالَ وَالَّذِي ن
َفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يَدْخُلُ قَلْبَ رَجُلٍ الْإِيمَانُ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ دَخَلَ الْعَبَّاسُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنَّا لَنَخْرُجُ فَنَرَى قُرَيْشًا تَحَدَّثُ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

English Translation
Yazid, namely Ibn Harun, narrated to us, Isma'il, namely Ibn Abi Khalid, informed us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib (رضي الله عنه), who said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, when the Quraysh meet one another, they meet with cheerful faces. But when they meet us, they meet us with faces we do not recognize.' the Prophet ﷺ became very angry and said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, faith will not enter the heart of a man until he loves you for the sake of Allah and His Messenger.' [Second chain:] Jarir narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith, from 'Abd al-Muttalib ibn Rabi'ah, who said: Al-'Abbas entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'We go out and see the Quraysh talking among themselves,' and he mentioned the hadith.
