English Translation
Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Qays narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Abi al-Safar narrated to us, from Arqam ibn Shurahbil, from Ibn 'Abbas, from al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during his illness: "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." So Abu Bakr went out and said the takbir. Then the Prophet ﷺ felt some relief and came out being supported between two men. When Abu Bakr saw him, he stepped back, but the Prophet ﷺ gestured to him: "Stay in your place." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat beside Abu Bakr and continued reciting from the place in the surah that Abu Bakr (رضي الله تعالى عنه) had reached.
