English Translation

'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas and from 'A'ishah, both of whom said: "When the illness of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ became severe, he began covering his face with a striped cloak. When he felt stifled, we removed it from him while he was saying: 'May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians! They took the graves of their prophets as places of worship.'" 'A'ishah said: "He was warning them against doing what they had done."
