حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْمَعْنَى وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَوَاتٍ وَسَكَتَ فَنَقْرَأُ فِيمَا
قَرَأَ فِيهِنَّ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ وَنَسْكُتُ فِيمَا سَكَتَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَلَعَلَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي نَفْسِهِ فَغَضِبَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ أَيُتَّهَمُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَتَتَّهِمُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, from Sa'id, and Ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, with the same meaning. Ibn Abi 'Adi said: from Sa'id, from Abu Yazid, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "the Prophet ﷺ recited aloud in some prayers and was silent in others. We recite aloud in what the Prophet ﷺ of Allah recited aloud, and we are silent in what he was silent." Someone said to him: "Perhaps he was reciting silently to himself." He became angry at this and said: "Do you suspect the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" Ibn Ja'far and 'Abd al-Razzaq said: "Do you suspect the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"
