English Translation
Yahya (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that sufyan dictated to me, (going back) to Shu'bah, who said: I heard 'Amr ibn Murrah, 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Mu'allim narrated to me, Taliq ibn Qays al-Hanafi — the brother of Abu Salih — narrated to me, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما): the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate: 'O my Lord, help me and do not help (others) against me. Grant me victory and do not grant victory over me. Plan for me and do not plan against me. Guide me and make guidance easy for me. Grant me victory over those who transgress against me. O my Lord, make me one who is ever-grateful to You, ever-remembering of You, ever-fearful of You, ever-obedient to You, ever-humble before You, ever-turning (to You) in repentance. O my Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sins, answer my supplication, make firm my proof, guide my heart, make my tongue truthful, and remove the rancor from my heart.'
