حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ

سَعْدٍ فَقُلْتُ بِيَدَيَّ هَكَذَا وَوَصَفَ يَحْيَى التَّطْبِيقَ فَضَرَبَ بِيَدَيَّ وَقَالَ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا فَأُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَرْفَعَ إِلَى الرُّكَبِ

English Translation
Mus'ab ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i prayed with Sa'd (رضي الله عنه) and I placed my hands like this — and Yahya described placing the palms together (tatbiq) — so he struck my hands and said: 'We used to do this, then we were commanded to raise them to the knees [in ruku'].'
