حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ لَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ خَرَجَ عَلِيٌّ بِابْنَةِ حَمْزَةَ فَاخْتَصَمَ فِيهَا عَلِيٌّ وَجَعْفَرٌ وَزَيْدٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ ابْنَةُ عَمِّي وَأَنَا أَخْرَجْتُهَا وَقَالَ جَعْفَرٌ ابْنَةُ عَمِّي وَخَالَتُ
هَا عِنْدِي وَقَالَ زَيْدٌ ابْنَةُ أَخِي وَكَانَ زَيْدٌ مُؤَاخِيًا لِحَمْزَةَ آخَى بَيْنَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِزَيْدٍ أَنْتَ مَوْلَايَ وَمَوْلَاهَا وَقَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَنْتَ أَخِي وَصَاحِبِي وَقَالَ لِجَعْفَرٍ أَشْبَهْتَ خَلْقِي وَخُلُقِي وَهِيَ إِلَى خَالَتِهَا

English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated from Hajjaj, from al-Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed from Makkah, 'Ali took the daughter of Hamzah with him. 'Ali, Ja'far, and Zayd disputed over her before the Prophet ﷺ. 'Ali said: 'She is the daughter of my uncle, and I brought her out.' Ja'far said: 'She is the daughter of my uncle, and her maternal aunt is with me (my wife).' Zayd said: 'She is the daughter of my brother' — for Zayd was the sworn brother of Hamzah; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had established brotherhood between them. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Zayd: 'You are my freedman and hers.' He said to 'Ali: 'You are my brother and my companion.' And he said to Ja'far: 'You resemble me in appearance and character, and she goes to her maternal aunt.'
