حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ
اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْرِضُ الْكِتَابَ عَلَى جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فِي كُلِّ رَمَضَانَ فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ اللَّيْلَةِ الَّتِي يَعْرِضُ فِيهَا مَا يَعْرِضُ أَصْبَحَ وَهُوَ أَجْوَدُ مِنْ الرِّيحِ الْمُرْسَلَةِ لَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي الشَّهْرِ الَّذِي هَلَكَ بَعْدَهُ عَرَضَ عَلَيْهِ عَرْضَتَيْنِ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Ya'la narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Utbah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to review the Book (Quran) with Jibril (عليه السلام) every Ramadan. On the morning after the night in which he would review it, he would be more generous than the blowing wind — he would not be asked for anything except that he gave it. In the month before which he passed away, he reviewed it (with Jibril) twice.
