حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى

اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَا يَمْنَعُكَ أَنْ تَزُورَنَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَزُورُنَا قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ { وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ } إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

English Translation

Ya'la narrated from 'Umar ibn Dharr, from his father, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibril (عليه السلام): 'What prevents you from visiting us more often than you visit us?' Then it was revealed: {And we (angels) do not descend except by the command of your Lord} [19:64] to the end of the verse.
