ْأُضْحِيَّةُ سُنَّةٌ وَقَالَ عِكْرِمَةُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمِرْتُ بِالْأُضْحِيَّةِ وَالْوَتْرِ وَلَمْ تُكْتَبْ

English Translation
Waki' narrated from Isra'il, from Jabir, from Abu Ja'far and 'Ata', who both said: 'The udhiyah (Eid sacrifice) is a sunnah.' And 'Ikrimah narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I was commanded with the udhiyah and the witr, but they were not made obligatory (upon the ummah).'
