حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ إِذَا رَكَعْت

ُ وَضَعْتُ يَدَيَّ بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيَّ قَالَ فَرَآنِي أَبِي سَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ فَنَهَانِي وَقَالَ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَفْعَلُهُ فَنُهِينَا عَنْهُ

English Translation

Mus'ab ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that when I bowed in prayer, I used to place my hands between my knees. My father Sa'd ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) saw me and forbade me, saying: 'We used to do this, but then we were prohibited from it.'
