English Translation
'Uthman ibn Muhammad narrated to us — 'Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: and I heard it from him — Jarir narrated to us, from Qabus, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: On the night the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey, he entered Paradise and heard a sound from one of its sides. He said: "O Jibril, what is this?" He said: "This is Bilal, the mu'adhdhin." When the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ returned to the people, he said: "Bilal has succeeded! I saw such-and-such for him." Then Musa (عليه السلام) met him and welcomed him, saying: "Welcome to the unlettered Prophet." He was a tall, dark-skinned man with straight hair reaching his ears or above them. the Prophet ﷺ said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is Musa (عليه السلام)." He continued on, and 'Isa (عليه السلام) met him and welcomed him. He said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is 'Isa." He continued on, and an awe-inspiring, dignified old man met him and greeted him. He said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is your father, Ibrahim (عليه السلام)." Then he looked into the Fire and saw people eating carrion. He said: "Who are these, O Jibril?" He said: "These are those who used to eat the flesh of people (backbiters)." He saw a red, blue-eyed, curly-haired, disheveled man. He said: "Who is this, O Jibril?" He said: "This is the one who hamstrung the she-camel (of Salih)." When the Prophet ﷺ entered al-Masjid al-Aqsa, he stood to pray. He looked around, and all the Prophet ﷺs were praying with him. When he finished, two cups were brought — one on the right and one on the left. One contained milk and the other honey. He took the milk and drank from it. The one holding the cup said: "You have chosen the fitrah (natural disposition)."
