English Translation
Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Salamah ibn Kuhayl al-Hadrami and Muhammad ibn al-Walid ibn Nuwayfi' the freed slave of the family of al-Zubayr — both narrated to me — from Kurayb the freed slave of 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt Maymunah (رضي الله عنها). the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke with his wife for a while, then slept. When the last third of the night came, he sat up, looked at the sky, and recited: {Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding} [Al 'Imran 3:190]. Then he got up and performed wudu', cleaned his teeth with a siwak, then prayed eleven rak'ahs. When Bilal called the adhan, he prayed two rak'ahs, then went out and prayed Fajr.
