Hadith #246

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ قَابُوسَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلَانِ حَاجَتُهُمَا وَاحِدَةٌ
فَتَكَلَّمَ أَحَدُهُمَا فَوَجَدَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ فِيهِ إِخْلَافًا فَقَالَ لَهُ أَلَا تَسْتَاكُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأَفْعَلُ وَلَكِنِّي لَمْ أَطْعَمْ طَعَامًا مُنْذُ ثَلَاثٍ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَجُلًا فَآوَاهُ وَقَضَى لَهُ حَاجَتَهُ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Qabus, that his father narrated to him, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: Two men came to the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ with the same request. One of them spoke, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ noticed his two front teeth were yellow, so he said: "Why do you not use the siwak? If it were not that it would be burdensome for my ummah, I would have made the siwak obligatory upon them at every prayer, as I made wudu' obligatory upon them."
