حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا
عَمَّارُ بْنُ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَكَّةَ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً سَبْعَ سِنِينَ يَرَى الضَّوْءَ وَيَسْمَعُ الصَّوْتَ وَثَمَانِي سِنِينَ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ وَأَقَامَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, 'Ammar ibn Abi 'Ammar informed us, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Prophet ﷺ stayed in Makkah for fifteen years — seven years hearing and seeing things (before the revelation), and eight years after that receiving revelation. Then he emigrated to Madinah and stayed there for ten years, then he passed away.
