Hadith #357
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَ
خْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ يُخْبِرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ بِعَرَفَاتٍ مَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ نَعْلَيْنِ فَلْيَلْبَسْ خُفَّيْنِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ إِزَارًا فَلْيَلْبَسْ سَرَاوِيلَ

English Translation
Bahz narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said 'Amr ibn Dinar informed me, he said I heard Jabir ibn Zayd reporting that he heard 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering a sermon and saying: 'No man should be alone with a woman, and no woman should travel except with a mahram.' A man stood and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my wife has gone out for Hajj, and I have been enlisted for such-and-such expedition.' He said: 'Go and perform Hajj with your wife.'
