'Attab narrated to us, 'Abdullah narrated to us, he said Ma'mar informed us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) that al-Aslami came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and confessed that he had committed adultery. the Prophet ﷺ turned away from him. He came to him from the other side and confessed again. the Prophet ﷺ turned away from him again. He confessed a third time, and the Prophet ﷺ turned away. Then on the fourth, the Prophet ﷺ said: 'You have confessed four times — so with whom?' He said: 'With such-and-such woman.' He said: 'Did you lie with her?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'As the kohl applicator enters the kohl container?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'As the rope enters the well?' He said: 'Yes.' So the Prophet ﷺ ordered that he be stoned.
