حَدَّثَنِي عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يُونُس
َ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرُ الصَّحَابَةِ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَيْرُ السَّرَايَا أَرْبَعُ مِائَةٍ وَخَيْرُ الْجُيُوشِ أَرْبَعَةُ آلَافٍ وَلَا يُغْلَبُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا مِنْ قِلَّةٍ

English Translation
'Abdullah narrated to me, my father narrated to me, Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, my father narrated to us, he said: I heard Yunus narrating from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubaydullah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not fast a day or two before Ramadan. Fast when you see it [the crescent] and break your fast when you see it. If it is obscured from you, then complete thirty days.'
