English Translation

Aswad ibn 'Amir narrated to us, Abu al-Muhayyah Yahya ibn Ya'la al-Taymi narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) that the Prophet ﷺ combined the prayers in Madinah — Dhuhr with 'Asr and Maghrib with 'Isha — without there being fear or rain. Ibn 'Abbas was asked: 'Why did he do that?' He said: 'He wanted not to put hardship on his ummah.'
