Hadith #71
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْم
ٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَسُوا مِنْ ثِيَابِكُمْ الْبَيَاضَ فَإِنَّهَا مِنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ وَإِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدَ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعَرَ

English Translation
'Ali said: 'Abdullah ibn 'Uthman ibn Khuthaym informed us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Wear white from among your garments, for it is among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in it. And among the best of your kohl is ithmid (antimony); it clears the sight and causes hair to grow."
