حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الرَّقِّيُّ أَبُو يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا فُرَاتٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ لَئِنْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ لَآتِيَنَّهُ حَتَّى أَطَأَ عَلَى عُنُقِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ لَوْ فَعَلَ لَأَخَذَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِيَانًا وَلَوْ أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ تَمَنَّوْا الْمَوْتَ لَمَاتُوا وَرَأَوْا م
َقَاعِدَهُمْ فِي النَّارِ وَلَوْ خَرَجَ الَّذِينَ يُبَاهِلُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَرَجَعُوا لَا يَجِدُونَ مَالًا وَلَا أَهْلًا حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

English Translation
Isma'il ibn Yazid al-Raqqi Abu Yazid narrated to us, Furat narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), who said: Abu Jahl said: "If I see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at the Ka'bah, I will go to him and step on his neck." He (the Prophet ﷺ) said: "If he had done so, the angels would have seized him visibly. And if the Jews had wished for death, they would have died and seen their seats in the Fire. And if those who challenged the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to mutual imprecation (mubahalah) had come out, they would have returned finding neither wealth nor family." Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us, 'Ubaydullah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Abu Jahl said — and he mentioned the same meaning.
