شهاب الدين القرافي
Imam
Ahmad ibn Idris al-Qarafi (626–684 AH / 1228–1285 CE) was the preeminent Maliki jurist and legal theorist of 7th-century AH Egypt. His encyclopedic al-Dhakhirah (The Treasure) is a comprehensive Maliki fiqh reference covering all areas of Islamic law. His al-Furuq (The Distinctions) is a landmark work in legal theory, identifying subtle but crucial distinctions between similar legal concepts. He also wrote al-Tanqih al-Fusul in usul al-fiqh, which remains a standard text. Al-Qarafi's works demonstrate the sophisticated analytical tradition of the Maliki school and are studied in Maliki academic institutions to this day.
