Hadith #2446
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَي
َّانَ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَتَبَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ وَصِيَّتَهُ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ : " هَذَا مَا أَوْصَى بِهِ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ وَأَشْهَدَ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ، وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا، وَجَازِيًا لِعِبَادِهِ الصَّالِحِينَ وَمُثِيبًابِأَنِّي رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا، وَإِنِّي آمُرُ نَفْسِي وَمَنْ أَطَاعَنِي أَنْ نَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ فِي الْعَابِدِينَ، وَنَحْمَدَهُ فِي الْحَامِدِينَ، وَأَنْ نَنْصَحَ لِجَمَاعَةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ "

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hayyan al-Taymi that his father said: Al-Rabi' ibn Khuthaym wrote his will: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever-Merciful. This is what al-Rabi' ibn Khuthaym bequeaths, calling Allah to witness it — and Allah suffices as a witness and rewarder for His righteous servants — that I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Prophet. I command myself and those who obey me to worship Allah among the worshippers, to praise Him among those who praise, and to be sincere advisors to the Muslim community."
