ْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا فَلَبِسَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ شَغَلَنِي هَذَا عَنْكُمْ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ إِلَيْهِ نَظْرَةٌ وَإِلَيْكُمْ نَظْرَةٌ ثُمَّ رَمَى بِهِ

English Translation

'Uthman ibn 'Umar narrated to us, Malik ibn Mighwal informed us, from Sulayman al-Shaybani, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما that the Prophet ﷺ took a gold ring, and the people also took gold rings. Then the Prophet ﷺ discarded it and said: 'I will never wear it.' So the people also discarded their rings.
