Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِي
ٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَعَلَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِكَلَامٍ بَيِّنٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا وَإِنَّ مِنْ الشِّعْرِ حُكْمًا

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, Simak ibn Harb narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما who said: A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and began speaking. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, in eloquent speech there is a form of sorcery (magic), and in some poetry there is wisdom.'
