حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَن

ْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ أَنْ يَقُولَ إِنِّي خَيْرٌ مِنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَتَّى نَسَبَهُ إِلَى أَبِيهِ أَصَابَ ذَنْبًا ثُمَّ اجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu al-'Aliyah — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is not befitting for anyone to say that I am better than Yunus ibn Matta [Jonah son of Amittai] — attributing him to his father. He committed a sin, then his Lord chose him [again].'
