English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Amr ibn Dinar — that the Prophet ﷺ said on the Day of the Conquest [of Makkah]: 'Its grass must not be cut, its game must not be startled, its thorny trees must not be felled, and its lost property must not be picked up except by one who announces it.' Al-'Abbas said: 'Except for idhkhir [lemongrass], O Messenger of Allah.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Except for idhkhir — for it is permissible.'
