حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ وَمُعَاذٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُدَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ قَامَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ الصَّلَاةَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ
الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ تُعْلِمُنَا بِالصَّلَاةِ قَدْ كُنَّا نَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ قَالَ مُعَاذٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abdullah ibn Shaqiq — that a man stood up before Ibn 'Abbas [to remind him of prayer time] and said: '[Time for] prayer.' He remained silent. The man said again: '[Time for] prayer.' He remained silent. The man said it a third time. [Ibn 'Abbas] said: 'Are you teaching me about prayer? We used to combine two prayers together with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ' — or: 'in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' [Mu'adh's version says:] 'In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'
