Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا قَيْسٌ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ جَاءَ النَّبِ
يُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى زَمْزَمَ فَنَزَعْنَا لَهُ دَلْوًا فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ مَجَّ فِيهَا ثُمَّ أَفْرَغْنَاهَا فِي زَمْزَمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ تُغْلَبُوا عَلَيْهَا لَنَزَعْتُ بِيَدَيَّ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Rawh and 'Affan, from Hammad, from Qays, from Mujahid — that Ibn 'Abbas said: 'the Prophet ﷺ came to [the well of] Zamzam. We drew a bucket for him and he drank, then spat [maj] back into it. We then poured [the bucket] back into Zamzam. He then said: Were it not that you [the well's attendants] would be overwhelmed [by people all seeking this blessing], I would have drawn from it with my own hands.'
