حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُمَا يَطُوفَانِ حَوْلَ الْبَيْتِ فَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَيْنِ وَكَانَ مُعَاوِيَ
ةُ يَسْتَلِمُ الْأَرْكَانَ كُلَّهَا فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَسْتَلِمُ إِلَّا هَذَيْنِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَ وَالْأَسْوَدَ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَيْسَ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ مَهْجُورٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Rawh, from al-Thawri, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Uthman ibn Khuthaym, from Abi al-Tufayl — that he said: 'I was with Mu'awiya and Ibn 'Abbas while they were performing tawaf of the House. Ibn 'Abbas would touch the two corners [the Yamani and the Black Stone], while Mu'awiya would touch all four corners. Ibn 'Abbas said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would only touch these two corners — the Yamani and the Black [Stone]. Mu'awiya said: None of them are to be abandoned.'
