English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Samad and Hasan, from Thabit, from Hilal, from 'Ikrimah — that Ibn 'Abbas said: 'the Prophet ﷺ was taken by night [isra'] to Bayt al-Maqdis, then returned the same night and told them of his journey, the description of Bayt al-Maqdis, and their [the Makkans'] caravan. Some people said' — Hasan said: 'We believe Muhammad in what he says.' [Others] apostatized and Allah struck their necks [destroyed them] with Abu Jahl. Abu Jahl said: 'Muhammad is trying to frighten us with the Tree of Zaqqum — bring dates and butter, let us feast!' [Ibn 'Abbas said:] He [the Prophet ﷺ] saw the Dajjal in his form with his own eyes — not in a dream — and ['Isa, Musa, and Ibrahim (عليهم السلام)]. the Prophet ﷺ was asked about the Dajjal and said: '[He is] white-complexioned [aqmar], fair-skinned [hijan].' Hasan's version says: 'I saw him as enormous [faylmani], white, fair-skinned. One of his eyes was protruding as if it were a gleaming star. His head hair was like tree branches. I saw 'Isa as a young man, white, with curly hair, sharp-eyed, of trim build. I saw Musa as dark [asham], dark-complexioned, with abundant hair — powerful in build. And I looked at Ibrahim, and in every limb of his body I saw a resemblance to your companion [i.e., the Prophet ﷺ himself resembles Ibrahim in every limb].' Jibril (عليه السلام) said: 'Give salam to Malik [the guardian of Hellfire].' So he gave salam to him.'
