English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Mu'awiya, from al-A'mash, from Shaqiq — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I am your forerunner at the Hawd [Pool]. I will dispute [on behalf of] certain people and then be overcome regarding them. I will say: O Lord, my Companions! And it will be said: You do not know what they introduced [into the religion] after you.'
