English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Sufyan, from Sulayman, from Abi Wa'il — that 'Abdullah said: 'I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ one night. He kept standing until I contemplated doing something bad.' We said: What did you contemplate? He said: 'I contemplated sitting down and leaving him [to continue alone].'
