حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ السَّمَّاكِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْمُسَيّ

َبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَشْتَرُوا السَّمَكَ فِي الْمَاءِ فَإِنَّهُ غَرَرٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn al-Samak, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from al-Musayyab ibn Rafi' — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Do not purchase fish while it is still in the water, for that is gharar [a transaction of uncertainty].'
