English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Abi Ishaq, from Abi al-Ahwas — that 'Abdullah narrated: 'the Prophet ﷺ used to give the salam to his right and to his left: Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah; Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah — until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen.'
