حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَ

نْ قَيْسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ كُنَّا نَغْزُو مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ شَبَابٌ وَلَيْسَ لَنَا نِسَاءٌ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَا نَسْتَخْصِي فَنَهَانَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid, from Isma'il, from Qays — that Ibn Mas'ud said: 'We used to go on military campaigns with the Prophet ﷺ when we were young men with no women. We said: O Messenger of Allah, should we not castrate ourselves? He forbade us from that.'
