حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو

إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَانَ أَحَبَّ الْعُرَاقِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الذِّرَاعُ ذِرَاعُ الشَّاةِ وَكَانَ قَدْ سُمَّ فِي الذِّرَاعِ وَكَانَ يَرَى أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ هُمْ سَمُّوهُ

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, from Zuhayr, from Abi Ishaq, from Sa'd ibn 'Iyad — that 'Abdullah said: 'The most beloved part of [slaughtered animals'] meat to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the foreleg [of the sheep]. He had been poisoned [via food placed] in the foreleg, and he believed it was the Jews who had poisoned him.'
