حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ نَزَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلًا فَانْطَلَقَ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَجَاءَ وَقَدْ أَوْقَدَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى
قَرْيَةِ نَمْلٍ إِمَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِمَّا فِي شَجَرَةٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّكُمْ فَعَلَ هَذَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ اطْفُهَا اطْفُهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu al-Nadr, from al-Mas'udi, from al-Hasan ibn Sa'd, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abdillah — that 'Abdullah narrated: 'the Prophet ﷺ stopped at a resting place and went off for his personal need. When he returned, a man had kindled a fire over an ant colony — either on the ground or in a tree. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Which of you did this? A man from the group said: I did, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Extinguish it! Extinguish it!'
