حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ وَ
كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ عِنْدَهُ الشُّهَدَاءَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَكْثَرَ شُهَدَاءِ أُمَّتِي أَصْحَابُ الْفُرُشِ وَرُبَّ قَتِيلٍ بَيْنَ الصَّفَّيْنِ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِنِيَّتِهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Hasan ibn Musa, from Ibn Lahi'a, from Khalid ibn Abi Yazid, from Sa'id ibn Abi Hilal, from Ibrahim ibn 'Ubayd ibn Rifa'a, from Abu Muhammad — a companion of Ibn Mas'ud — that the Prophet ﷺ was in his presence when martyrs were mentioned, and he said: 'Indeed the most numerous martyrs of my ummah are those who die in their beds. And many a man killed between the two ranks — Allah alone knows best his intention.'
