English Translation
Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, my father narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr narrating from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abdullah, from his father ('Abdullah ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ stopped at a place, and a man took the eggs of a hummarah (a type of bird). The bird came fluttering over the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: 'Who has distressed this bird by taking her young? Return her young to her.' He also saw an ant colony that had been burned and said: 'Who burned this?' They said: 'We did.' He said: 'It is not fitting that anyone punish with fire except the Lord of the Fire.'
