English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim who said: 'Abdullah said: 'We used to give salam to the Prophet ﷺ during the prayer, and he would return the salam to us. When we returned from Abyssinia (Ethiopia), we gave salam to him while he was praying, and he did not return it to us. I said to him: O Messenger of Allah, we used to give salam to you in prayer and you would return it. He said: Indeed, in the prayer there is preoccupation (sufficient engagement).'
