English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya ibn Adam, from Zuhayr, from al-Hasan ibn al-Hurr, from al-Qasim ibn Mukhaymirah — who said: ''Alqama took me by the hand and narrated to me that 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud took him by the hand, and that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took 'Abdullah by the hand and taught him the tashahhud in the prayer. He said: Say: Al-tahiyyatu lillahi wal-salawatu wal-tayyibat, al-salamu 'alayka ayyuha al-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, al-salamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadi llahi al-salihin [All greetings of honor are for Allah, and all prayers and good deeds; peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah]. Zuhayr said: And I memorized from him — if Allah wills — I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger. He said: When you have completed this — or he said: when you have done this — you have completed your prayer; if you wish to stand [for more], stand; and if you wish to sit [and finish], sit.'
