English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Ibn Numayr, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqama — that 'Abdullah said: 'When the verse was revealed: 'Those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing [zulm]' [6:82], they said: O Messenger of Allah, which of us does not wrong himself? He said: That is not what it means — it means shirk. Have you not heard what Luqman said to his son: 'Do not associate partners with Allah; indeed shirk is a great injustice [zulm 'azim]' [31:13]?'
