حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِ
ابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مَالًا لَأَحَبَّ أَنَّ لَهُ إِلَيْهِ مِثْلَهُ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ نَفْسَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَاللَّهُ يَتُوبُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَلَا أَدْرِي أَمِنَ الْقُرْآنِ هُوَ أَمْ لَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata' — that Ibn 'Abbas said: 'the Prophet ﷺ of Allah (ﷺ) said: If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth, he would wish to have another like it — and nothing will fill the soul of the son of Adam except dust. And Allah turns in forgiveness toward whoever repents.' Ibn 'Abbas said: 'And I do not know whether it is from the Quran or not.'
