English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Salama ibn Kuhayl, from Ibrahim ibn Suwayd — who served as the imam of 'Alqama's mosque after 'Alqama — that he said: ''Alqama led us in Zuhr and I do not know whether he prayed three or five [rak'as]. It was said to him: Did you [notice], O one-eyed one? I said: Yes. Then he performed two prostrations [of forgetfulness]. Then 'Alqama narrated from 'Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar to that [i.e., that the Prophet ﷺ also once prayed an uncertain number and then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness].'
