English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Abi al-Tayyah, from Ibn al-Akhram — a man from [the tribe of] Tayy' — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he forbade tabaqqur [accumulating excess] in family and wealth. — [Second chain] via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba — I heard Abu Jamra narrate from his father, from 'Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ — and 'Abdullah said: What then [is to be said] about one who has three families — one family in Medina and a family in such-and-such and a family in such-and-such?
