حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى ال
لَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا لِي وَلِلدُّنْيَا إِنَّمَا مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ الدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رَاكِبٍ قَالَ فِي ظِلِّ شَجَرَةٍ فِي يَوْمٍ صَائِفٍ ثُمَّ رَاحَ وَتَرَكَهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from al-Mas'udi, from 'Amr ibn Murra, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqama — from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'What have I to do with this world? My parable and the parable of this world is like a rider who rested in the shade of a tree on a hot summer day, then moved on and left it.'
