English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Qatan, from Shu'ba, from Simak, from Ibrahim, from his maternal uncle — that a man said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'I encountered a woman in a garden [hush] in Medina and took from her [what was] short of intercourse.' Then the verse was revealed: 'Establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at some hours of the night...' [11:114].
