حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ عَنْ ابْنِ مَس
ْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَاهُ لَيْلَةَ الْجِنِّ وَمَعَهُ عَظْمٌ حَائِلٌ وَبَعْرَةٌ وَفَحْمَةٌ فَقَالَ لَا تَسْتَنْجِيَنَّ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ هَذَا إِذَا خَرَجْتَ إِلَى الْخَلَاءِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Attab, from 'Abdullah and 'Ali ibn Ishaq, from 'Abdullah, from Musa ibn 'Ali ibn Rabah, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to him on the night of the jinn [encounter] with a dried bone, some dung, and a piece of charcoal, and said: 'Do not use any of these things to clean yourself when you go to relieve yourself.'
