English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Affan, from Hammad ibn Zayd, from 'Asim ibn Bahdala, and from Mansur ibn al-Mu'tamir, from Abu Wa'il — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'How terrible it is for one of them — or one of you — to say: "I forgot such-and-such a verse." No, he was caused to forget. So keep reviewing the Quran, for it escapes from the breasts of men faster than [a camel] escapes its hobbles' — or: 'its hobble.'
